Christine Bekes is the Executive Director for Powell Economic Partnership (PEP), the local economic development organization for Powell, Wyoming. She has been with PEP since 2014.
Christine was raised in Powell on her family farm. After high school, Christine spent about 20 years on the east coast and abroad for both education and work. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts. After some time in product development and graduate school, she pursued a career in professional running – traveling and racing around the world, living 4 years in Italy.
Christine has been a member of the WEDA Board since December of 2015 and currently serves on the board of directors for the WIDC-Frontier CDC, the organization for the SBA504 program in the state of Wyoming. In 2015, Christine received her certification as an Economic Development Finance Professional from the National Development Council. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Wyoming.
Christine is happy to be back home in the town and state that she loves. She enjoys the beautiful outdoors, all seasons, with her young daughter and dogs.
