Economic Development Professional Certification

There are several notable certifications for today’s economic development professionals to seek for a multitude of reasons. They are offered around the country and these certification registrations are eligible expenses for reimbursement through the WEDA Development Scholarship Program. Scholarships are limited to tuition or registration fee, including training materials, and/or travel expenses. Tuition/registration expenses may be prepaid directly by WEDA to the educational organization, upon timely request, or reimbursed upon completion of the training via submission of the Final Report dues within 45 days of course completion.

If you are seeking one of these professional certifications and still have questions, consider talking to a WEDA member in local economic development who has attended these accredited certification training programs: IEDC, EDI, NDC. WEDA members Leah Bruscino and Pat Robbins will be happy to help. Please refer to the WEDA members list for their respective contact information.

If you are a WEDA member in good standing you can submit the very simple WEDA scholarship application form to help defray the costs of attending higher education certification. Additional training funds may also be available through business training grants at the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. If your training funds requested are available through them, we ask that you seek those primary funds first to enable our limited funds to serve more WEDA members annually. If business training grant funds are available to you, WEDA can become the secondary payee and a scholarship request can be made to WEDA for any uncovered eligible expenses that the business training grant does not cover.
