Goshen County Economic Development Efforts Merge
September 16, 2016
Goshen County Economic Development Corporation (GCEDC) and Goshen County Chamber of Commerce are in the beginning stages of combining forces. This proposal will provide an opportunity to provide enhanced member benefits and streamline costs for the community. Current membership benefits from each organization will remain intact pertaining to supporting business communities throughout Goshen County.
GCEDC will continue to focus upon facilitating business development and positioning communities for economic growth while the Chamber function will continue to focus upon promoting business vitality and tourism efforts.
The merging of these two entities will create and make existing business promotion, business retention, and attracting new businesses more efficient by creating a "one stop shop" on behalf of the entire county.
A Transition Committee consisting of board members and staff from both respective organizations have been meeting and discussing details for bringing the two organizations together by the end of the calendar year. GCEDC will host a Partnership Breakfast on Friday, September 9th at 7am to share more in-depth information with membership and general public that would like to attend. Members of both GCEDC and Chamber, are invited to participate.
