Cowboy Creamery Corporation Expanded Into Four States with Help from SBDC
February 20, 2020
Sheridan, WY. Cowboy Creamery Corporation’s story began in 2018 at the base of the Bighorn Mountains in Sheridan, WY with the creation of Western Style® — a unique, handcrafted ice cream created with western-sourced dairy and recipes handed down from early homesteader days. Their mission is to be the best handcrafted ice cream available for retail sale. They distribute ‘Western Style®’ Super Premium ice cream to select cities in Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, and Colorado.
A spokesperson from the main office says the business’ rapid growth is directly attributed to the support that was provided — and continues to be provided — by the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network. Assistance was offered with financing, website development, marketing, branding, product differentiation, and graphic design. When other resources were needed, Wyoming SBDC Network Regional Director Susan Jerke was ready with connections to other Wyoming SBDC Network experts and the Wyoming Business Resource Network.
With the recent acquisition of a freezer truck and the creation of five new sales and distribution jobs, Cowboy Creamery Corporation's strategic growth plan includes direct distribution. The corporation has bigger dreams — a vision of growth and making a difference in the local dairy industry, as well as continuing to create new, unique flavors for a regional market.
