Sanctuary Pottery Studio Is Working Towards Expansion
February 21, 2020
Casper, WY. A meeting of 12 potters at a local clay studio resulted in the creation of Sanctuary Pottery Studio in Casper. One day after meeting, the group began looking for a location to host pottery workshops. In just seven months, Sanctuary Pottery Studio has grown from 12 to 23 members.
Founding member and owner of Sanctuary Pottery Studio, Dandee Pattee, worked with Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network Business Advisor Cindy Unger. Pattee and Unger went over the numbers and came up with a business plan to lease a space, purchase equipment, and even obtain a loaned kiln.
“Without Unger’s insight,” Pattee says, “Sanctuary Pottery Studio would never have happened!”
Sanctuary is far more than just a place to throw and fire pots or take a casual art class. The studio truly is a community of ceramic art enthusiasts who share their passion for the art by teaching classes to the public. Sanctuary Pottery Studio is already looking toward expansion and working with the Wyoming SBDC Network to make sure they expand at a responsible pace.
