WEDA's Work Pays Off as Wyoming Sees Strong Job Growth

September 25, 2023

The work members of the Wyoming Economic Development Association (WEDA) do every day pays off each and every year. Earlier this month, the Research & Planning sector of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reported that total employment in the state rose by 6,337 jobs and payroll increased by $386.8M between Q1 2022 and Q1 2023.

WEDA encourages job growth

Multiple sectors experienced growth. With mining serving as one of the top industries in the state, it’s not surprising that it added the most jobs. However, multiple sectors saw substantial growth, including professional and business services, local government, leisure and hospitality, manufacturing, wholesale trade, transportation and warehousing, and health care and social assistance. In total, 21 of Wyoming’s 23 counties saw payroll growth, and 19 saw employment growth.
