Wyoming Economic Development Association (WEDA) member organization, Western Wyoming Community College (WWCC), has been awarded a $2.6 million grant through the Wyoming Innovation Partnership (WIP).
WEDA Members are Creating a Resilient Workforce, Economy in Wyoming
Launched in 2021 by Governor Mark Gordon, the WIP is focused on better aligning Wyoming’s economic development agenda by increasing collaborations between the state and local partners. The Partnership aims to develop innovative solutions that support and enhance Wyoming’s economy, workforce, and sources of revenue.
WWCC will use its grant funding to develop degree and certificate programs in Substation Technician and Cybersecurity; a continuation of a partnership with other community colleges to share course curriculums; an expansion of the Electrical and Instrumentation program in Evanston, and a collaboration with the University of Wyoming on Blue Hydrogen, where WWCC will create a workforce development plan for this emerging field.
These grant projects will help move Southwest Wyoming forward into the future.
