Our team at the Wyoming Economic Development Association (WEDA) works throughout the year to provide education, training, and networking opportunities for our members. These conferences and virtual events provide value to all participants, whether you want to learn about specific programs or learn from other economic development professionals.

Get the most out of your WEDA membership through our upcoming conferences, webinars, and prosperity calls. Here are a few amazing opportunities to invest in your professional development and use your newfound skills to support your cities, towns, and counties.  

Attend the Wyoming Working Together Conference

WEDA hosts three main events each year. The first occurs in Cheyenne as part of WEDA Legislative Day. Attendees learn about and discuss the biggest economic challenges and opportunities in Wyoming and are introduced on the floor of the legislature. WEDA members and legislators then gather for an informal lunch, providing the opportunity to network with other WEDA members and state representatives.

The second event is the Spring Workshop, which will be held on May 6 & 7 in Casper, in conjunction with the Wyoming Business Council. The event will focus on “Assessment to Action,” which is a collaborative process to diagnose, understand, and respond to economic constraints.

The third event is our annual conference, which is held in a different part of the state each year. In October 2024, the Wyoming Working Together Conference will be held in Rock Springs. The two-day event will feature speakers from various Wyoming economic development agencies and experts who can help you be more effective in your work. Get inspired by everything happening in The Equality State and make sure your region doesn’t miss out. 

Register for Our Monthly Prosperity Calls 

You don’t have to wait for the fall conference to benefit from WEDA. Register for our free prosperity calls on the second Thursday of each month. The call runs from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm and features experts covering a variety of topics in economic development. Call in if the topic is relevant to your work or is something you wish you knew more about.

“If you are new to WEDA, our monthly prosperity calls are a great way to join the community,” says Kahler. “You can immediately learn about relevant topics and get to know other economic development leaders who could help you in the future.”

Learn On Your Schedule With Upcoming Webinars 

WEDA hosts webinars throughout the year that you can attend live or watch when you have spare time. Register in advance to attend discussions related to Economic Development 101, proposal writing, and financial analysis. Bring questions to ask the speakers or message them later if you have specific problems you need help with.
